When I stepped into the role of PSSI Chief Compliance Officer, I found a company already on the path to improving its compliance practices. Building on the great work done before my arrival, I focused on advancing our initiatives. Now, eight months later, I’m proud of our team’s dedication to integrating compliance into every aspect of our operations. With a commitment to excellence, we’re setting the gold standard in our industry while serving our customers with integrity.
While Tim recently shared an update on our broader compliance work, I wanted to share one of the more recent components: The Code of Conduct and Ethics.
Although we may come from different backgrounds, when it comes to working at PSSI, we must all act with integrity. The Code is intended to foster a culture of cohesion and respect and promote transparency across everything we do. Our Code of Conduct and Ethics is more than a set of rules or something our team members agree to every year; it is a foundational document that shapes our organizational principles and values each day. It is an important part of our compliance journey and vital for our long-term success.
It’s critical that PSSI team members read and understand the Code. It provides guidance meant to ensure that business decisions and day-to-day business operations are anchored in a universal understanding of how to do things the right way. That means acting with integrity and reporting behaviors that conflict with our code — and doing the latter without a fear of retaliation.
Although we follow a rigorous process to verify all our team members are legally authorized to work in the U.S., at least 18 years of age, and not currently enrolled in high school, if team members have a good faith reason to believe that another employee is unauthorized to work or underage, they must report their concerns to a supervisor or human resources. We believe in working collaboratively with our customers and communities to maintain the highest ethical standards. If you ever believe there has been a violation of our Code, we encourage you to share your feedback through our Toll-Free, anonymous We Care Hotline: (844)880-0009.
Compliance is a team effort and only by working together can we truly make it a part of PSSI culture. We’ve come far in my time as Chief Compliance Officer and I look forward to going the distance with each and every one of you.
